Here at Winescape we are constantly on the lookout for new and exciting
wines to bring to the attention of our customers and this month we are
introducing a few exceptional new bottles from Italy for you to try.

Firstly we have the wines of Fratelli Alessandria whose vineyards were
founded at the begining of the 18th century and are still proud to not
only use their own grapes, but to still be a family-run producer. Today
the owner Gian Battista together with his wife Flavia, brother Alessandro
and his son Vittore proudly carry on their ancestors tradition and passion
for wine production. The estate stretches over some twelve hectares
covering some of the best crus in Verduno and Monforte. Most of these
yeild Nebbiolo grapes, but the family also concentrates on all local grape
varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera and the rare Pelaverga, which is to be
found only in Verduno town.

Next we have an amazing selection of wines from Conte Ferdinando
Guicciardini. Located between Florence and Siena in the Chianti Colli
Fiorentini (hills of Florence) area, the Castello di Poppiano estate
covers 270 hectares, of which 130 are for the vineyard and 47 for olive
groves. The Castello has been in the Guicciardini family since 1199 and
their aim is to bottle wine with a total respect for the traditions of the
estate and to only ever bottle wine and olive oils produced on it's own
grounds.
