We started WINESCAPE in 1998, seeing the internet as an ideal way to show off the superb range of wines that we have been shipping to supply the hotel and restaurant business since 1982. That range has now grown and developed as more vine growing countries are producing better and better wines. The established, "Old World" producers have responded with improvements in quality and value so there has never been such a good time to buy bargain wine online, or indeed cheap wine! We have continued to improve our service as well, Most deliveries now take place within 3 days, often overnight, and with this new, upgraded site, ordering has never been easier. But always remember if there are any problems call us on the old fashioned telephone. There are now 20 of us in the business, based at our warehouse in Liphook, Hampshire, all with the one aim of looking after the customer, provide excellent wines from interesting producers, at a great price, delivered when the customer needs them. Operating under the umbrella of Ventisquero, but with independent vineyards, tanks, commercial team, and winemaker, Ramirana first appeared in 2004, and has already carved a niche for itself with a unique strategy. In these times when most Chilean wineries prefer to gear their efforts toward the international markets, Ramirana makes wines with the Chilean palate in mind.The winemaker and face of Ramirana, Aurelio Montes explains: “When this project first began, I said I wanted to specialize in pleasing Chilean tastes. Whenever I try wine with friends or lead tastings in local restaurants, I am very interested in the people’s opinions, and I agree with their criticism that the Chilean wine industry generally focuses on the foreign market rather than ours here at home” |
