We started WINESCAPE in 1998, seeing the internet as an ideal way to show off the superb range of wines that we have been shipping to supply the hotel and restaurant business since 1982.

That range has now grown and developed as more vine growing countries are producing better and better wines. The established, "Old World" producers have responded with improvements in quality and value so there has never been such a good time to buy bargain wine online, or indeed cheap wine!

We have continued to improve our service as well, Most deliveries now take place within 3 days, often overnight, and with this new, upgraded site, ordering has never been easier. But always remember if there are any problems call us on the old fashioned telephone.

There are now 20 of us in the business, based at our warehouse in Liphook, Hampshire, all with the one aim of looking after the customer, provide excellent wines from interesting producers, at a great price, delivered when the customer needs them.

While Alain Gayrel spends a great deal of his time running the local co-operative which he rescued from the edge of bankruptcy a few years ago, his main passion is producing the very highest quality Gaillac and Vin de Pays wines from grapes grown on his own estate, the Domaine Vigné-Lourac. A real success story in the area, the line of new stainless steel tanks pay testament to how dynamism and a focus on quality can secure a market for wines, even in the backwaters of South West France.

His vineyards are well established, on average, 30 years and this clearly helps the quality focus as does Alain’s dedication to his grapes during winemaking, which result in him often sleeping alongside the vines, just in case they need a helping hand!
